We spent 5 minutes with Rajan for a quick salesforce market update. From short interview processes becoming more popular to the candidate motivations in a post covid-19 world. Here’s more about what he had to say:
What have you found your candidates are looking for most in their next role?
Growth is always important, candidates are often seeking a company with resources, mentorship programs and an outlined path for growth internally – candidates often enquire into how frequently the client promotes within.
Why are people leaving their current role?
No candidates’ motivations are exactly the same, some cases may be very similar but have slightly different contributing factors. I’ve noted several candidates seeking remote roles, as we enter a post-Covid-19 era many companies are looking to bring back onsite/hybrid working scenarios which isn’t suited for everyone for various reasons whether its distance, time or family related.
What job titles are the most in demand?
We are currently working on roles that cover all bases within Salesforce, from Account Executives on the sales side of things, to the technical resources such as Technical Architects – which in my opinion I would say are the most in demand however less frequently requested – the most commonly requested would be Salesforce Developers.
What is the standard interview process, has it changed in the past year?
I haven’t noticed a great deal of change from the most common interview practices:
• Conversational screening and insight into past experience & aspirations
• A technical deep dive/coding assignment or title specific scenario-based questions
• A grandfather meeting – a introductory conversation with Senior members of the team Interviews are usually a case-by-case basis depending on the seniority or specific of the role.
I’ve noticed some companies are taking a more aggressive approach, using a quicker interview process to combat the fast pace of the Salesforce market or to fill a position that is urgently required.
What’s exciting about your market in particular? What developments have you seen?
I enjoy seeing new Salesforce Certifications launch, we often speak to a lot of candidates from an IT background holding brief commercial experience with Salesforce that are looking to transition into working full-time in the Salesforce eco-system – certifications such as the Business Analyst cert that has recently dropped is a good way of validating their skills sometimes allowing their lack of commercial experience to be overlooked which may gain themselves an interview.
