We’re really excited to have recently launched our recruitment and consultancy services in Dallas, US. Heading up Oliver Parks over there are James and Josh, who specialise in Renewable Energy and ERP. Keep reading to find out more about the team!
Meet James Pinder
Why I joined Oliver Parks
I studied Accounting & Finance at University but as I got closer to graduating it became quite clear that it wasn’t what I wanted to do. Both my parents worked in Recruitment for a long time, so I was fairly familiar with it. I knew a few friends who’d gone down this path, I spoke with them and then found Oliver Parks and the rest is history!
Areas I specialise in and what's exciting about them
My main area of focus is Energy, mainly Renewables across the US, with a specific focus on Texas. What I find most interesting about the industry is the different forms that Renewable Energy can take – Solar, Wind, Battery, Hydrogen just to name a few. There’s a lot of very bright people in the industry who are shaping how we power the world for future generations.
With Biden’s administration continuing to push out new legislation on Green Energy, there’s always something to keep you on your toes.
What I enjoy most about my job
I value the opportunity to spend a good amount of my time at work speaking to others – Probably why I wasn’t going to be a great Accountant… It’s great speaking with candidates and clients about what their goals are and working together to ensure they reach these targets. It’s rewarding being able to deliver an offer to a candidate who has really invested themselves in the interview process and hearing how happy they are with the end result.
How I enjoy spending time outside of work
I spend a lot of time outside work exercising and socialising with friends. Since Josh and I moved to Dallas we’ve been exploring the city, thankfully there’s lots to keep you busy. We have a few trips planned for the coming months to see what else the US has to offer – Vegas, Miami, New York and Denver are next on the list.
Meet Josh Pratt
Why I joined Oliver Parks
I joined when I was 19 after realising the degree I was studying wasn't for me. I luckily got introduced to Oliver Parks via a mutual friend I was playing Rugby with at the time. I had no idea what I wanted to do as a career but enjoyed working at Oliver Parks from day one and have been here for six years now.
Areas I specialise in and what's exciting about them
I specialise in ERP technology; NetSuite, Acumatica, Sage and Workday Financials specifically. Seeing how well-managed ERP systems can facilitate rapid growth and poorly ran ones hinder progress has been eye-opening. I think being able to consult companies on hiring full-time or fractional resources and the difference those resources can make to the overall success of the business has been what interests me most.
What I enjoy most about my job
Apart from the amazing team I work with at Oliver Parks... What I enjoy most about my job has been the ability to move into a more consultative role where I get to work with hiring managers from a range of departments/backgrounds to identify gaps in their current team and highlight the right talent for them.
How I enjoy spending time outside of work
I spend most of my time outside of work, in the gym, socialising with friends or cooking (for myself and Pinder). I also hope to join a rugby team out here in Dallas soon.
We are thrilled to have James and Josh as part of our Dallas team at Oliver Parks. Their passion for their respective fields and dedication to finding the right talent for our clients make them invaluable members of our organisation. If you have any questions or need assistance in the Renewable Energy or ERP sectors, feel free to reach out to James or Josh, and they'll be more than happy to help!
